Collection Policy
Dues & Late Fees
Current Dues are $60 per calendar year.
Dues are payable in full on January 1.
Late fee of $10 is added on January 31 per year of nonpayment.
Dues are processed using QuickBooks digitally. This keeps the costs down. Commencing 2025, a $10 fee will be added for paper invoices.
Nonpayment means 'year of nonpayment' and/or any amount outstanding, this can include partially paid dues, late fees or outstanding boat ramp key fees.
Boat Ramp Keys
Upon the sale of a property, the outstanding boat ramp keys shall be returned prior to closing. Boat ramp keys run with the property, not the home owner. A deed restricted community means only the legal owner of property is responsible for covenants found in the deed. Example: You move from 5000 Sunrise Blvd to 6000 Sunrise Blvd, and you will have to pay the boat ramp key fee. Lost boat ramp keys are assessed at $150 against the current property owner. New keys provided to properties not having previously taken one are assessed a replacement fee currently assessed at $30.00. Only one key will be issued to a property.
Property Sales
If the boat ramp key was not returned to the Sunrise Beach Club prior to closing, it is assumed to be transferred to the new owner. Every effort is made to advise sellers and buyers of this policy, and a realtor statement is provided to all who request one. No new boat ramp key can be issued until any outstanding key is returned. Further, failure to return the outstanding boat ramp key is subject to the $150 lost key assessment. The $150 assessment is due immediately. If it is not assessed against the seller during property transfer, the new owner as member is now in arrears and is responsible for the key registered to the property.
Email Reminders and Mailings
Invoices will be sent by email when possible to the email address on file. Others will be mailed a due invoice via first class US mail.
Invoice Dates:
12/1 – First Invoice;
2/1 – Second Invoice with late fee added;
Invoices will only be sent out on other dates if there was an error on original invoice or if an outstanding key has not been returned 30 days after sale of property. A realtor statement will be sent upon request on any property.
Payment Plans
Payment plans are available. Agreed upon payment plans will suspend future late fees, however a missed payment under a payment plan will reinstate all suspended late fees. Please contact us if you are on a payment plan and cannot pay as initially agreed. Failure to timely reschedule payments will render the payment plan null and void.
Forgiveness
One late payment waiver is allowed for a member who has been in good standing for no less than 5 years.
