Sunrise Beach Community Facebook Group Guidelines

The Sunrise Beach Facebook page is intended exclusively for Sunrise Beach members. On occasion, individuals outside of Sunrise Beach may be approved for membership if they have demonstrated meaningful support and involvement within the Sunrise Beach community. These requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

To request membership in the Facebook group, applicants must provide their address and email address. In addition, all members are required to read and agree to abide by the following group rules:

  1. Community Announcements
    Community-related announcements are encouraged, including yard sales, community clean-up events, and similar neighborhood activities.

  2. Be Kind and Courteous
    Treat all members with respect. Harassment, personal attacks, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

  3. No Political Content
    Political discussions, posts, or debates are not permitted within the group.

  4. No Promotions or Spam
    Advertising or promoting businesses, services, organizations, or events for profit or nonprofit purposes is prohibited.

  5. No Sharing of Group Content
    Content posted within the group may not be shared outside the group without permission.

  6. No Selling
    Buying and selling items is not permitted. Members may post notices for free curbside items only.

  7. Collections Policy
    Members whose accounts have been placed in collections will be removed from the group until their obligations have been satisfied.

  8. Club Documents
    Sunrise Beach Club (SBC) may post general meeting minutes, governance documents, and other official community information for members.

  9. Use of Real Names
    Members must post using their real names only. Posting under nicknames will result in one warning. Continued violations may result in removal from the group.

Violations of Guidelines
Posts or comments deemed to violate these guidelines may be removed. Repeated violations may result in suspension or permanent removal from the group.

FACEBOOK RULES


1. Community announcements are encouraged. Yard sale postings, community cleanup events and the like promote a better sense of community.

2. The SBC social media site is not for the furtherance of any business for profit or fund-raising purposes. If you’re looking for a contractor, you may post a request, but ask for a reply via private message.

3. No politics. Campaigning or advocating for elected officials or candidates for office is not permitted. Criticism of elected officials is not to be part of the Club’s page.

4. Members must register their email to their address with the club prior to joining the Facebook group.

5. The member email list is private. Many in our community cherish their privacy. The member list will not be released for any reason.

6. Posts deemed to violate these guidelines will be taken down.

7. Violations of these rules will subject the user to suspension without prior notice. Appeals may be made for reinstatement in person to the Club by mail postmarked 7 days prior to regularly scheduled meetings.

8. Sharing Group Content: Posting content from this group anywhere else, posting PM's, posting content from other groups, and linking to other groups are prohibited.

9. SBC will commence posting SBC regular meeting minutes and governance documents on Facebook. Blocking of any administrator postings is prohibited.

10. We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.
